Designer at heart.

Leading UX for real impact

MEng. Product & System Design Engineering, University of the Aegean

Design spans across all layers of the business. From strategy to execution, all roles influence the customer experience.

Advocating for a great experience involves a collaborative exploration, execution and a persistent outward look that teaches us how the experience landed.

  • Designer

As a leader in product design for enterprise I explore new experience concepts, shape the vision and craft multi-layered journeys. Users are professionals at work, and good design makes a difference in professional excellence, for individuals, teams and organisations.

Throughout my career I have collaborated with multiple cross functional teams on the full cycle of design thinking, from exploration to design to overseeing implementation and improving the live product.

  • Researcher

I enjoy conducting both generative and evaluative research, from early exploration to validating solutions.

I synthesize findings into models that travel well across teams personas, journeys, and narratives that bring users to life and inform smart product decisions.

I seek creating a shared knowledge and keep iterating on it with new questions.

  • Leader & Mentor

Leadership comes naturally to me, whether it's leading design teams, hiring talent, shaping processes, or championing product quality.

It’s one of the most challenging and rewarding hats I wear.

Mentorship has been from time to time a very important focus, helping emerging designers grow and bridging the gap between academia and industry.

  • Instructor

Wearing this hat reminds me how much I don’t know.

I’ve taught workshops and mentored emerging designers, breaking down processes into learnable bits. My material is focused on providing a toolset of methodologies put simply, and the critical thinking to pick the right one for the right problem at hand.

My mission is to demystify the design process, and inspire creative confidence.

Career day May 2024,
Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering, University of the Aegean

Talked about my professional career path, consulted young professionals and shared a sneak peak of my life in Sitecore as a Product designer

My goal was to make the future less scary, empower the graduates to feel creative about their path and own their journey into their professional life by being authentic.

UX instructor: Introduction to Product design

Learning Actors, 2019

Co-designed and co-facilitated a 2-day program of UX courses, introducing core design principles, UX methodologies and applying them with hands on workshops

Digitized 2018, Athens, Agile Actors

Co-designed and co-facilitated a 6h workshop where participants were introduced to UX design and how it can be integrated effectively in the life of an Agile team.

As design engineer I learnt the art of problem solving through holistic approaches, systems thinking and a human centered mindset.

The department equips students with multi-disciplinary skills in areas such as design, arts, engineering, programming, computer graphics, mathematics, history, marketing, psychology.

My studies in the department, the island landscape and the students community have forged my identity as a designer, a creative and a human being.

Thesis (2014): Motion capture and editing methodologies with low budget equipment for computer animation or real time applications

In this thesis, I studied low cost motion capture technologies that can be used in 3D character animation (2014). A theoretical research covers relevant areas in motion capture and focuses on optical, markerless motion technologies, specifically on vision-depth-based systems.

A methodology is proposed as guidance for a hands-on study. The steps towards the completion of the project include: context and goals definition, gathering tools, implementation, case study and evaluation. In our case study, Kinect for XBox 360 is used as a low cost device, Brekel Pro Body as a motion capture software and Autodesk MotionBuilder as a character animation software.

This study proposes a pipeline for motion capture, revealing important tools and techniques for each step.
